Discovering Bainbridge one (mis)adventure at a time

Spice it up

January 10th, 2010 at Sun, 10th, 2010 at 10:13 pm by Bree Ogden

There are only a few things that make me blush. Guillaume Canet makes me blush. Unnecessarily racy commercials, they make me blush (KY, I’m looking at you). Karaoke…it makes my cheeks bleed. And yea, I’ll admit it, belly dancing is on this list. So, you know… because there is nothing better than an awkward situation, I popped into Spice Route to do a little discovering.

And here is what I’m thinking–not too shabby for my first official Bainbridge Discoverage (I make up words sometimes…I figure all that money I spent on a masters degree should give me some privilege).

Really, it was awesome. It’s the kind of entertainment that is perfect for dinner. It is fun, festive, feisty, unique and just entertaining enough. But at the same time, you’re not obligated to watch and listen. You are free to chat with your dinner mates, or in my case, feel awkward and stare into your glass of water and play Fieldrunners on your iPhone (honestly, I do not recommend watching Belly Dancing when you have no one to naturally divert your attention.)

Swing your hips over to Spice Route on Sunday night (6pm) and enjoy a good blush.

Speaking of awkward, this was probably the most awkward thing I have ever read. Belly Dance shouldn't make you blush unless you're thinking about things you shouldn't be.

Uhh, belly dancing in a restaurant would make me feel awkward just like having singers serenade at a restaurant for my b-day make me feel awkward. Are you saying that every single time you're uncomfortable you're thinking about things you shouldn't be? You comment made no sense.

Thats a very good point. Perhaps I feel awkward easily.
  • Woohoo! I made it on a blog! ;]
Awesome pictures and a great way to capture the atmosphere and mood of the restaurant! Haha I'm glad you recognized the tables that shy away from looking at me.. oh well, can't win them all!
